The four-story warehouse in the Boise, Idaho suburb of Nampa measures out at 650,000 square feet on the main floor, the size of 11 football fields, but then features three more sorting levels. The facility is the largest distribution center in the state. The identity of the user of the facility (Amazon) started out as confidential but quickly became known, as progress was made on the project. This facility relies on robots to pick, pack and ship items, with warehouse workers right alongside their computer-driven colleagues.
Project Bronco became an Amazon fulfillment center totaling 2.6 million square feet. This project consisted of 695,000 square feet of slab on grade for the warehouse space, and 1.5 million square feet of elevated slab on metal decks for all 3 RSP levels and mezzanine. Elevated decks met strict flatness requirements per Amazon robotics. Not to mention, there were 245,000 square feet of 74' tall load bearing tilt panels.
